What we say:

At A Glance

This incredibly popular DR-100 from Epiphone offers unbeatable value for money. With its classic dreadnought looks and pleasant, balanced tone, the DR-100 punches well above its weight. The slim neck is comfortable and easy for both beginners and long time players. This guitar is a safe and smart bet for anybody looking for an inexpensive but reliable acoustic guitar.

Features We Love:

Classic Looks

The dreadnought has long been a model that attracts many players from a wide array of styles. It is considered a standard for country, folk, rock and bluegrass. Likely you will have seen it in the hands of many songwriters and performers over the years. Now this model is brought to you in a very affordable price range.

Select Spruce Top

The top is select spruce, giving a bright and full tone. Spruce is a wood that sounds even better with age so the more you play it, the greater it will become. Mahogany is used for the body and when paired with the spruce top, the result is a well constructed guitar that sings with a well defined and full character.

Epiphone Build Quality

Known for their high quality construction and components, Epiphone have been providing excellent guitars at affordable prices for many years now. Buying an Epiphone guitar means you are acquiring a quality instrument from a reputable brand so you can't really go wrong.

Highlights:

 • Epiphone quality
 • Classic dreadnought model at a very affordable price
 • Perfect for a beginner or those looking for their first acoustic

Husband loves this guitar. Looks amazing and a lot more expensive than it was!

I purchased the Epiphone DR-100 as I was looking for a low priced guitar to take out and about - on the beach, busking, etc. I wanted a dread to project a big sound without having to use an amp, and after much online research and reading of customer reviews, I decided to go for the above mentioned guitar.

I chose the 'vintage sunburst' model and was impressed with both the colour and the finish - I also found the action to be sufficiently low for comfortable playing. The only minor problem I personally found, was that due to the guitar's shape and high-gloss finish, it tended to slide off my leg when playing sitting down. However, this was easily solved by adjusting and using a strap normally reserved only for stand-up play.

I own several other guitars that were considerably more expensive than this one (although none that would be considered "high end") and I enjoy playing the Epiphone as much as any of them. In my opinion, as long as you do your research prior to purchase, you don't have to spend a fortune on a decent guitar - and at £89.00 the Epiphone DR100 is a very decent guitar.
