Takamine give us a quality dreadnought in their top of the line Pro Series with this P3D acoustic guitar. This electro acoustic is made with a solid Cedar top and solid Sapele back with laminate sides. The P3D gives a full and warm sound full of detail and nuance that lends itself to strumming but really excels at fingerpicked parts. There is a dimension and sparkle to this model that is very musical! Of course, being made of all-solid timbers for the top and back, this will vibrate more and improve the more you play it: the depth will continue for years. This model has a venetian cutaway in the lower bout to facilitate upper fret playing.
Visually the P3D is an understated affair, though there are nice details like the wooden soundhole rosette, the dot-in-dot inlays and the gold & amber tuners. The guitar has a natural satin finish.
Taking the P3D on stage? A fantastic CT4B II pickup and preamp system is installed to give you a great live sound, too. This system has a powerful preamp mounted on the shoulder of the guitar which includes a 3-band EQ and an electronic tuner to keep you right at all times!
This guitar is a very good all-rounder and acquits itself admirably well on stage and off.
