What we say:

Now HERE is a beauty of an acoustic! Trust Gretsch to make a large, bold and beautiful statement with their acoustic guitar models, like this Falcon Jumbo here.

From the V-shaped ‘Vertical Winged’ headstock down this guitar screams Gretsch luxury! White and Gold is always awesome but White and Gold Sparkle beats it for the win! The Gold Sparkle binding is, like much of the other detail on here, taken from the Falcon electric guitars. Being that they are regarded as amongst the most beautiful guitars of all time, that’s no bad thing!

This well-heeled Gretsch has a solid Spruce top and laminated Maple for the back and sides. This combination works with the Jumbo body size to create a loud, well-projecting sound that is full and percussive, perfect for singer songwriters who want to make a statement on stage!

To that end, Gretsch have fitted a Fishman Isys + system to deliver excellent live acoustic sound for you. A side panel gives you control over your volume, tone and even a tuner!

We love this loud and proud Jumbo from Gretsch. It is exactly the type of acoustic we were hoping for from this charismatic company! It’s great quality, lots of fun and unspeakably cool.

Its jumbo cutaway body is finished in gloss white, with dazzling gold-sparkle binding on the top, back, sound hole, fingerboard and headstock. Other premium features include A solid spruce top with scalloped “X” bracing and classic Rancher triangular sound hole, maple sides and arched back, mahogany neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with Neo-Classic™ “thumbnail” inlays, “V”-shaped headstock with vertical winged “Gretsch” sparkle logo, compensated bridge with rosewood base, deluxe tuners, and gold-plated hardware. The Fishman® Sonicore under-saddle pickup and Isys+ preamp system provide great amplified performance, with volume, tone and phase controls, onboard tuner and battery life indicator.

Nice guitar. 4 stars because I?m not sure if there will be any further issues due to poor packaging.

NIGEL D. - 29/1/2021

The guitar was basically sound....But for what I do live...Does not put out...So far I have up gauged the strings to 13's....Binned the stupidly overthick pickguard....And fitted Grover Imperial Machineheads.....The pick up system does not do it either, rather than bin it, I have bought a Sans Amp to use with the guitar as I did not want to chop the body....I changed the Bridge Pins to take out some of the treble and have fitted Rosewood ones.....The guitar now has a dramatic change of tone....Just in case you think I am a Bullshitter....I have a Guitar Shop in Wrexham...I build guitars and have been carrying out repairs and modifications to both Acoustic and Electric Guitars for 53 years.....I only deal in secondhand Guitars....Cheers Ryk D.
