What we say:
Takamine are a very familiar brand to music fans: constantly seen in the overwhelmingly public hands of artists like Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, The Eagles and Garth Brooks. World class professionals choose Takamine, a brand that has grown from a small shop at the foot of Mt Takamine in Japan in 1959 to their status today as one of the world’s biggest acoustic guitar brands.
Speaking of big, this GJ72CE in Natural is one big acoustic! It's a jumbo model and singer-songwriters will love this! Made with a solid Spruce top and flamed maple veneers for the back and sides, this is a guitar that gives out both depth and brightness. It's a fantastic strummer: this type of guitar is the perfect accompaniment instrument for singers because of the volume and inherent percussiveness available. Power and balance combine to lay a great base for songs.
This model has some nice details, too. Abalone is used for the rosette and an interesting 'reversed mountain' 12th fret inlay. The finish is a beautifully traditional Brown Sunburst.
An upgraded TK-40D preamp can be found on the guitar's upper bout side. There are a comprehensive set of controls here to help you sculpt out your live sound: there is a 3 band EQ, gain, mid contour and notch filter on hand. It really helps to have these controls handy!
We think players will be impressed with this big bodied beauty: it's a great looking and sounding guitar that's easy to play and control.
