What we say:

Takamine are a very familiar brand to music fans: constantly seen in the overwhelmingly public hands of artists like Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, The Eagles and Garth Brooks. World class professionals choose Takamine, a brand that has grown from a small shop at the foot of Mt Takamine in Japan in 1959 to their status today as one of the world’s biggest acoustic guitar brands.

The New Yorker body size is Takamine's smallest full-size shape, built in the style of a parlour guitar. This style is popular with fingerpickers and flatpickers, such is the quality of single note projection and focus this type of model has. This slotted-headed beauty is made entirely from Koa, a rare and exotic tonewood found exclusively in Hawaii. Koa has relatively similar tonal properties to Mahogany: bold mid-range tones with clarity and warmth. This proves to be a great choice for the parlour-sized body of course! This is a very charming and playable instrument that we think we appeal to a broad range of players who prefer to use their fingers over a plectrum.
