What we say:
Seagull guitars, like Art & Lutherie, are a sub-division of Godin, an exemplary company who are dedicated to sustainability, innovation and kipping things Canadian!
Seagull acoustic guitars like this one have several innovations to stand them apart from the other guitars on the racks: they have a specially designed small headstock that promotes straight string pull which aids in tuning and sustain; the tops of the guitars are pressure tested and ever-so-slightly curved for stability, power and projection. These designs ideas coupled with hand-made Canadian production and a commitment to use reclaimed wood (as well as launching initiatives to replant) make Seagull a company dedicated to the guitar in many ways.
This smaller-bodied folk guitar from Seagull's excellently priced Entourage range has a slightly smaller body size which makes the sound stronger in the midrange frequencies, perfect for delicate or dynamic finger-picked passages. Seagull use solid Spruce for the guitar's top here: Spruce is bright and lively sounding with a sweet edge. The back and sides are put together from 3 laminated pieces of Wild Cherry and the neck is fashioned from Silver Leaf Maple and attached at the perfect angle for easy playing. Seagull's semi-gloss finish is used here for natural beauty.
This guitar is a lovely, unfussy guitar that is made with quality and love. It plays extremely well and sounds fabulous: all fingerpickers looking for a well-priced acoustic will take to this!
