What we say:

Since 1976, Schecter guitars have carved a unique and highly revered path through the world of original guitar design. No mere copyists, Schecter are known for some truly outlandish designs but are equally well known for their high quality control and rock 'n' roll attitude. For those players who are a little wearied with the usual models on offer, dive into the world of Schecter guitars and discover a treasure trove of original thinking mixed with some of the best hardware and construction available. Their designs fit every pocket, too: A-list rock stars go out on stage with these guitars and so can you.

The C-1 is Schecter's set-neck rock machine. It has two cutaways to provide a sort of hybrid look and there are many, many varieties with different sets of hardware and finishes to choose from. This Apocalypse model has some very high-end appointments to go along with it's cool 'Mad-Max'-style Rusty Grey finish.

The body is made of Swamp Ash, a famously bright and resonant tone wood that also has a striking grain, hence the transparent finish. The set-neck has a couple of carbon fibre reinforcement rods in place to stabilise and strengthen it. On top of the neck we have a lovely Ebony board with a 12-16" compound radius and 24 stainless steel frets that will pretty much never wear out. Just the thing for the apocalypse! Some Grover tuners keep things in check up at the headstock along with a locking nut.

One of the best features of this C-1 is the built-in Sustainiac in the neck pickup position. This spooky device (powered by a 9v battery) agitates whichever string (or strings, it works on chords!) you're playing and goads it into infinite sustain! It can also introduce a feedback frequency too and works along with the Floyd Rose tremolo to make long, slow-motion notes that raise and lower in pitch without wavering. The Sustainiac makes the guitar come alive! This can be controlled via onboard knobs and switches on the front of the guitar and switched off altogether if you don't want to engage it.

As for the other hardware, a high-spec Floyd Rose 1500 series locking tremolo sits proudly next to a pair of Schecter USA's own Custom Shop Apocalypse VI humbuckers.

The amount of value in terms of sheer quality on this guitar is stupendous. There are so many high spec hardware choices and woods choices on here that it elevates and exceeds all expectations.

Great guitar, set up perfect out of the box, the hardware is great can get some mad sounds out of the sustaniac, was a bit confused it saying built in Indonesia and it's a lighter colour than the Korean one but to be honest I think I prefer the colour to this one.
