What we say:
Alvarez acoustic guitars began life in St Louis, Missouri in 1965 by master luthier Kazuo Yairi. A well known guitar brand in the States, many top players like David Crosby, Thom Yorke, Devin Townsend and Any DiFranco have proudly toted Alvarez guitars live and in the studio.
Nowadays most Alvarez guitars are made to exacting standards in China and distributed all over the world, bringing traditional building techniques, understated good looks and high quality control into the hands of players of all descriptions.
This AD60 model is a dreadnought from the Alvarez Artist range. This traditional and handsome acoustic has an A+ grade solid Sitka Spruce top to ensure a strong and bright sound. Layered Mahogany is used for the back and sides.
It’s a clean and crisp look for this AD60: a subtle inlay at the 12th fret of the Pau Ferro fingerboard and a tasteful abalone rosette combine with a unique bridge shape and Ivory coloured multi-ply binding make up the quietly good looking visuals of this understated guitar.
The guitar has a Shadowburst Natural Gloss finish apart from the neck which has been thoughtfully given a semi-gloss finish to support easy hand movement.
If you need a quality, affordable acoustic and do not need a pickup system, this solid-topped AD60 from Alvarez is an excellent, understated choice.
