What we say:
Along with the 360, the larger and slimmer bodied 330 model is the most recognisable model that Rickenbacker make. Players like U2's The Edge, Pete Townshend and Roger McGuinn love this model for its particular chime and attack. This model is the famous 12 string version with its double sets of tuners on the headstock to manage the extra strings.
This charismatic semi-hollow guitar is made from maple and has the distinctive 'slash hole' along the bout of the body, which has deep cutaways to facilitate upper fret access. A 24 fret set neck with a rosewood fretboard is adorned with dot fret markers and a comfortable 10" radius for playing on. The extra strings are close in and don't provide any major problems when making chords or playing lead lines: in fact it feels very natural and correct.
Two of Rickenbacker's own Hi-gain single coil pickups provide that characteristic 'ricky' tone, ultra jangly in this 12 string iteration. This 330 is in a fantastic shade of Midnight Blue, with an accompanying headstock. Rickenbackers are beautiful guitars to play, hear and see. They are still made by hand in California, as they always have been.
There is one small chip on the horn on the treble side and some minor buckle rash on the back of the guitar.
