What we say:

Fresh from the Electromatic range and full of retro style, this Gretsch G5220 Jet is a mean rock machine.

This Jet has a chambered Mahogany body and a set neck, also made from Mahogany. This single cutaway Jet is all about hard rock, sustain and thick crunchy sounds.

Lots of cool Gretsch details abound on this model: multi-ply binding, large block fret markers and a rather distinctive V-shaped stop tailpiece mark this affordable axe out as one that really cuts a dash.

Newly developed Broad’Tron pickups supply a biting tone with plenty of clarity and definition. Far more than retro twang but less than full on metal overload, these excellent pickups deliver a broad palette of quality rock tones.

The thin U-profiled neck has a slightly shorter 24.6” scale length and 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12” radius for a fantastic feel that is defiantly modern. Vintage looks and modern playability? Sounds perfect to us!

This Gretsch G5220 is an excellent option for anybody in the market for a single cutaway mahogany guitar for rocking out on. This model is available here in Casino Gold.

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (1 reviews)

Having played for many years, I'm just starting to properly learn how to play guitar. I came into the store wanting a Fender Telecaster or Stratocaster, but as soon as I started playing the Tele, something was off. Probably because I'm not used to the neck, body or something. But you know when you know. The stratos were excellent and the sound so versatile. But the player series has this glossy finish on the fingerboard that made it really uncomfortable for me. And just by chance, this one was lying next to the Teles. Gave it a try and something about the neck and the sound that made the playing super easy. Also, the looks are just stunning. After watching some reviews on YT, got it and have been playing it daily ever since.
