What we say:

Before the GS Mini, there was The Baby. Taylor began their travel-guitar journey with this Baby Taylor, a great 3/4 sized dreadnought with an innovative bolted-on neck. It was a bold and welcome move on the part of Taylor to take the concept of a small travel sized guitar and build it with their same innovative engineering nous and using proper tone woods like Solid Tropical Mahogany in the construction. Ultimately it was a visionary move too: smaller scale acoustic guitars have become enormously popular and almost every major manufacturer offers a version of their own. Taylor, however, got there first with the Baby!

As well as the aforementioned Mahogany top, this left-handed Baby Taylor sports an Ebony fretboard (with a 22 3/4” scale length and 19 frets) and uses layered sapele for the back and sides to keep the costs economical and also to provide climate-resistant construction. The Mahogany top plays the biggest part in the production of tone here, allowing for a surprisingly broad range of frequencies and dynamics. The Mahogany also works together with the X Bracing inside the body to make the Baby pleasingly loud!

Playing is fast and fun with the shorter neck and it’s also worth noting that this would make a terrific first guitar for any smaller person starting out. You also get a custom-fitted, high quality gig bag too, completing a very attractive and portable package.
