What we say:

At A Glance

Dinosaur Jr's head honcho loves a good guitar solo. His music is littered with epic wig-outs, all played on his collection of vintage Jazzmasters. Now, he has been honoured with this excellent quality signature model from Squier and it is proving to be one of the most popular Squiers out there! J Mascis's Jazzmaster is a very tasteful combination of a vintage colour finish on the basswood body with a frankly awesome gold anodised pickguard. The maple neck is a comfy C profile and bears Mascis' signature on the back of the headstock.

Features We Love:

Classic Tones

The single coil Jazzmaster pickups sound clear and large. Although they can easily handle a range of sounds, they are certainly perfect for knocking out waling leads through an assortment of fuzz pedals!

Vintage Style Tremolo

Essential to the Jazzmaster sound and style is the floating vibrato which is ideal for creating all of those atmospheric tremolo sounds. Whether you use it for playing your favourite songs or as a tool for creation, it will certainly do the job nicely.

Lead/Rhythm Circuit

The rhythm/lead circuit allows for a great level of tone customisation. By making use of the various switching positions you can move between a range of sounds that are all incredibly usable.

  • A must for any Dinosaur Jr fan
  • Great looks that stand out from the rest
  • A solidly made model with a whole range of tones

amazing straight outta the box. best experience i've had with a new Squier

Rob L. - 4/7/2021

very playable Squire with a knock out variety of tones. My only quibbles would be the cheap wobbly 3 way pickup switch, plus the strings seems to go out of tune rather easily (not my playing honest!), maybe its the new strings. Otherwise sounds incredible. Quite a light guitar compared to my American Tele...but the Squire sounds better!

its my first guitar and its a fantastic guitar

Jonathan S. - 18/2/2021

Amazing in every way. Plays far better than many of my other expensive guitars and the wood grain on this example is fantastic. Shame about the finish chip.

I used to be a bit snobby about the name on the headstock, not any more. This guitar defies its budget branding. Huge range of tones, amazing playability out of the box, none of the classic jazzmaster tuning/Bridge issues, and the neck feels and plays like a guitar three times the price. Build and finish quality is superb too. Looks great with the gold pickgaurd too.

One of the best played & owned guitars to date. If you wanna look as cool as j mascis & play face shredding solos whilst doing the Kevin shields technique, pick this bad boy up, your guitar will never go out of tune thanks to the adjusto-matic Bridge!

Callum C. - 2/12/2020

Fantastic value, only grumble is the whammy bar falls out far too easily. This is a great guitar with superb variations in tone. I havent put it down yet.
