These slides are much softer sounding, and more lightweight than Glass or Metal, and due to the satin finish are less likely to slip from the finger
You might need more pressure from the old fingers or a bit more gain from the amp to get the same oomf as Metal or Glass, but the trade-off is more than worth it.
