What we say:

At A Glance:

Exclusive to the UK & Ireland, this group of 'Sinker' mahogany guitars from Martin are quite special!

Crafted from century old mahogany, recovered from a riverbed in Central America, these guitars have been designed with the intention of achieving the sound and feel of 'Golden Age' Martins with no artificial processing. Built in very limited numbers due to the rarity of the wood used, these guitars won't be hanging around so if you like what you see, make sure to act on it now!

This group of instruments are also personally signed by Chris Martin IV himself!

Features We Love:

Sinker Mahogany

Said by Martin to have been logged between the years of 1880 and 1920 (at which point the timber would have already been 100+ years old), the mahogany used to create these guitars has been sitting at the bottom of a riverbed in Belize, Central America. Having been preserved by the river, the wood has now been recovered in an eco-friendly fashion using sonar, boats, and scuba gear. Once recovered, the wood is left to dry naturally with no torrefaction happening. The idea behind this process is to achieve the tonality and feeling of 'Golden Age' Martin instruments with no artificial treatment and we think they've done just that!

0M Body Size

This ‘Sinker Mahogany’ Martin is a ‘OM’, or Orchestral model. This has a slimmer depth to the body and narrow ‘hips’ and is one of Martin’s most popular body styles outside the Dreadnought. The 000 is perfect for fingerpicking styles but is also a most satisfying strummer. The main difference between the OM and the similar 000 design is the OM’s slightly longer scale length. Measuring 25.4” as opposed to 24.9”, the extra tension and space makes the OM particularly well-suited to fingerstyle techniques.

Modified Low Oval Neck Shape

This neck shape is suited to those with smaller hands or who prefer a slimmer neck. With this model, you'll be able to play for hours on end without hand pain getting in your way.

Pros:

  • 'Sinker' Mahogany gives 'Golden Age' tone and feel
  • Smaller sized body feels great to play
  • Modified Low Oval neck shape is comfortable and suited to those who enjoy a thinner neck
