What we say:
PRS's CE (Classic Electric) range was originally created to provide a bridge between their established 'Custom' models and something with more twang and resonance The CE 24, with it’s bolted on neck, is the inspired answer. Certain sounds are only achievable with bolted-on neck construction and the CE24 has been a very popular addition to the PRS stable.
Made with a one piece Mahogany body and Flamed Maple top, the CE24’s Pattern Thin maple neck is bolted into the body with a deep-seated neck join. The 25” scale neck has an Ebony fretboard with the iconic ‘Bird’ inlays.
The pickups are PRS’s own esteemed 85/15 humbuckers, designed by Paul himself. These are updates of his famous 1985 Treble and Bass models, which are very balanced sounding with a good level on output and also very convincing as single coils when tapped with the included circuit. It’s a super-versatile set up with an excellent selection of base-covering tones.
Everything about this guitar is extremely well engineered. From the tuners to the tremolo unit, this is a pro-level guitar that basically succeeds on all levels.
The PRS CE24 is an appealing alternative to the Custom 24: it is equally fantastic and also justifiably different sounding. This guitar is a real workhorse that will suit any body looking for a quality guitar with great looks, workmanship and a versatile palette of first class sounds. This particular CE24 is a limited edition model and is finished in Satin Faded Grey Smokeburst.
