What we say:

At A Glance

From the Inspired by Gibson Collection, the Epiphone Les Paul Studio blends this classic model from the 80s with some great modern features. Originally intended for studio musicians and those looking for a stripped down version of the classic Les Paul, this model has now earned its place as a favourite amongst many guitarists. Epiphone have installed a set of Alnico Classic humbuckers which provide a number of great tones suited to rock, jazz, blues and pop. The mahogany body and neck give a familiar feel and sound and the maple veneer completes the Les Paul look and construction.

Features We Love:

Alnico Classic Pickups

Taking influence from the classic Les Paul tones, this set of humbuckers provide a range of tones. Ranging from thick chords to smooth solos, all types of playing are articulated well, allowing your playing to be heard as clearly as it deserves to be.

Grover Tuners

Featuring an 18:1 ratio, these tuners do a great job of getting you in tune quickly and easily. Grover are known for their quality tuners and high accuracy, so you can be assured that they will do the job of helping to make the process of tuning a painless one.

SlimTaper D Profile

There is no point in having a great guitar if it isn't comfortable to play. The neck profile here, a 1960s SlimTaper D, feels natural in your hand and allows for prolonged periods of playing without discomfort. Ideal for all of those long rehearsals or studio sessions.

Highlights:

  • Classic Les Paul style
  • Epiphone level of quality
  • Perfect choice for the gigging musician as a main guitar or backup

Brand new to electric guitar so just learning, however i can say that this instrument looks and sounds beautiful, easier to play than the acoustic guitar i was using to learn on, love it

I am not a guitar player and this guitar was a gift. My partner was absolutely delighted with it, overwhelmed actually. It has a beautiful rich, mellow sound whilst being extremely versatile for all styles of music. He says it's an absolute joy to play and from my point of view beautiful to listen to. We are very pleased with this lovely instrument and all the fantastic help, information and expertise from GuitarGuitar.

First of all, the downside... I ordered this on a Fri for a Mon delivery, however it arrived on the Sat. As it happened I was home and it saved me staying in on the Mon, but had I other plans for Sat, that could have been annoying! Also one knob is looser in feel than the others, but not worth sending it back for, I'm sure it's a small job and my local guitar tech can fix it. I like a low action but this was just a touch too low out of the box, so just needed a small tweak to set it how I like it. No hex key included (luckily I had my own!) On the upside, there is so much to like about this guitar! Firstly, it's a beautiful guitar and flawless in the finish. It's lightweight. The Grover tuners are nice and smooth and the tuning is rock solid. I tuned it up out of the box and several days later it's still on point. The neck profile is very comfortable and combined with the low action, it plays like butter. Classy warm tones, sounds lovely through my Blues Jr amp. Both pickups sound great and unlike some guitars in this price range, I'm not considering changing them up. All in all, a terrific guitar for a beginner, or even an experienced player looking to add a budget Les Paul to their setup. If the spec ticks your boxes, I honestly can't think of a good reason why anyone would be disappointed with this purchase.

Disapointed i received the one on display, when told i'd receive a new unused one.

Good quality Epiphone guitar. Nice feeling neck that’s bigger than a Gibson 60s slim taper and less chunky than the rounded 50s. Neck might be too glossy for some but nothing that can’t be looked at when the guitar gets a set up. Body weight feels solid without being too heavy. Thickness seems slightly smaller that a Gibson LP Std, as I’d imagine it would be without the Standard’s top. Pickups are fine - better than the set on my last Epiphone from the mid 2000s if I recall correctly, and the electrics work well. Pickups and electrics would be the easiest things to upgrade in the event of wanting to mod the guitar.
