What we say:

At A Glance

The Charger 290 from Reverend not only looks the part but it has the superior tones to match. Appearance wise, it screams cool with a little hint of attitude. It wouldn't look or sound out of place for a variety of styles ranging from country, rock, shoegaze and even jazz. This is the kind of guitar that you would want to take out on the road with you for the reliable construction and longevity it offers. The 9A5 pickups give sparkling clean tones but are still thick enough for when you want to drive the tube amps.

Features We Love:

Roasted Maple Neck

So what is the difference between a normal maple neck and one of these? Roasted Maple is heat treated to over 300° F to remove any sugars, moisture and impurities. The result is a lighter and more stable wood that has a distinctive caramel colour. Less moisture in the wood means less adjustments are required over the course of the seasons when the temperatures can drastically change. Plus it looks lovely too!

Dual-Action Truss Rod

On the occasion that you do need to make a truss rod adjustment, the dual action rod allows for changes in both directions (depending on back or forward bow). Located at the headstock for easy access it makes the up-keep of your guitar that bit easier. Whether you are changing string tensions or need to put things back to normal after a tour in the harsh north this makes the process a whole lot easier.

Treble Bleed Circuit

Many players opt for a simple set-up on stage - plug your guitar into an amp and you are good to go. This approach often means using your guitar volume control for any changes, rolling it back to clean up your tone a bit. The Treble Bleed Circuit allows you to roll back without sacrificing those upper frequencies which can often be the case with other volume pots. Now you can turn it down without reducing the quality of your tone.

Highlights:

  • A true roadworthy workhorse of a guitar
  • A versatile guitar that covers a range of styles
  • A fresh take on a classic design that comes loaded with high end hardware
