What we say:

At A Glance:

Released in 1964, the Mustang bass has been one of Fender's most enduring designs.

This updated version of the shortscale predecessor add the power and punch of P Bass and J Bass pickups to the traditional Mustang build for flexibility, while also offering a smooth playing feel and great visual style

As this is a short-scale bass, the scale length is just 30". This means that the string tension is a little lower and the frets are slightly closer together, making this bass particularly comfortable to play!

Features We Love:

Fender FSR Limited Edition

As part of Fender's FSR Series, this guitar boasts a stunning limited edition Buttercream finish that pairs handsomely with the Maple fingerboard.

Shortscale

With a 30" scale length, this bass is incredibly comfortable to play! As a result of the shorter scale, the string tension is somewhat lower, and the frets are closer together which means that apart from the physical size of the bass being easier to hold, the bass itself is much easier to play than more traditional scale lengths.

P & J Pickups

Holding the sound of this beast altogether are the pickups. With a punchy split single-coil P Bass pickup in the middle, joined by a rumbling Jazz Bass neck pickup, this unbeatable combination brings together the very best of both sonic worlds! With as many tonal flavours as this bass offers, you'll never get bored playing!

Pros:

  • Limited Edition Buttercream finish
  • The short scale length increases comfort and playability
  • The blend of P Bass and J Bass pickups gives an unrivalled versatile sound to this bass
