The band were BLACK SABBATH; the track was the first track of the bands first release. The Guitar player was Tony Iommi and the sound of that super distorted diminished fifth interval was the sound of a Laney amp – an LA100BL.
Since that monumental day Laney association with Tony Iommi as gone from strength to strength resulting in the launch of his first signature model – the GH100TI, originally called the GH100S over 30 years ago.
We are extremely proud of our association with Tony Iommi and very happy to mark the final ever Black Sabbath show with the announcement of a very limited, hand signed and numbered faithful re-issue of his most recent signature amp, the Laney TI100.
The BCC-TI100 features 100 watts RMS, 8 x 12AX7 loaded preamp and a 4 x 6L6 output section. Twin footswitchable channels, footswitchable PRE-BOOST on each channel, 3 band EQ, Volume, Enhance and Presence. All finished off with Tony’s trademark cross livery and to top it all – it glows red!
There are very few chances in life to claim a first, many people can claim to be the biggest, or the fastest, or the best, but only one person can claim to be the first!
In the case of the global phenomena that is heavy metal – the first heavy metal tone was crafted by Tony Iommi and powered by Laney.
Black Sabbath – it started with Laney, and it ends with Laney.

ENHANCE CONTROL – this allows control over the response of the amplifier to lower frequencies. Turning the control clockwise gives a looser low-end feel, while lower settings provide a tighter, punchier response. The optimum setting is dependent on the speaker cabinet being used.
PRESENCE – an output stage tone control. This adjusts the higher frequency content of the signal.
POWER AMP IN – this socket provides the user with an input to the power amplifier stage.
PRE AMP-OUT - This socket gives the user an output for driving other amplifiers. This is useful in multi amp setups where a single preamp can drive multiple power stages. The output is an unbalanced line level output.
SYM LINK: Link sockets are used when connecting two or more amplifiers together with a single master amplifier. The connection ensures that the slave amplifiers change channels synchronised to the master amplifier. This enables the Presence and Enhance controls on the slave amplifiers to be synchronised with the master amplifier.
SYM OUT: Connect a mono jack lead from here to a slave amplifier to ensure channel synchronisation.
