The Yamaha FS7 RX, crafted in Japan, is a concert body acoustic guitar designed to inspire singer-songwriters with its wide sonic palette and smooth playability. Its outstanding projection and clarity—achieved through the fusion of time-honored craftsmanship and cutting-edge innovation—enhance vocals to their fullest. Its exceptional dynamic response brings every chord to life with rich, resonant depth. The Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing produces an articulate, vibrant tone, while the Indian rosewood back and sides deliver full lows and intricately layered harmonics. Drawing on subtly integrated elements of traditional Japanese design, it pairs elegant artistry with meticulous construction, honoring the past while shaping the future of acoustic performance. The Atmosfeel pickup system precisely captures the guitar’s natural voice with remarkable definition, preserving its authentic character.

Powerful Projection and Clarity

The guitar delivers outstanding projection with exceptional clarity and articulate tone, making it an ideal companion for singer-songwriters . This sound is brought to life by features including an optimal scalloped X‑bracing pattern for the Sitka spruce top and a reinforced back, realized through a unique “Acoustic Design” development approach that unites scientific analysis with skilled craftsmanship.

Understated Traditional Japanese Aesthetic

Traditional Japanese aesthetics add a touch of refined and unique character with subtle grace. The inner label is made from traditional washi paper, while the rosette features rope‑shaped inlays inspired by classic Japanese motifs. Fingerboard inlays draw from ancient Kumiki woodworking methods, reflecting the meticulous artistry of Japanese craftsmanship.

Rounded V-Shaped Neck

The one-piece mahogany neck features a rounded-V shape for a comfortable grip, allowing players to perform with ease. Its durable semi-gloss polyurethane finish enables effortless movement all along the neck.

Atmosfeel™ Pickup System for Naturally Amplified Sound

The Atmosfeel pickup system combines a piezo sensor in the bridge for low frequencies, a microphone for low and midrange frequencies, and our proprietary contact sensor for high frequencies. The result is a full, natural sound with remarkable definition, controlled by simple settings that preserve the guitar's authentic voice.

Two Body Styles, Two Tonewood Voices

With a choice of body shapes and tonewood combinations, the FG/FS7 Series ensures every player can find a guitar that complements their style and brings out their desired tone.
Two body shapes are available: the dreadnought-style FG and the concert-style FS. The FG’s larger, broader body responds superbly to strumming, delivering powerful low frequencies and strong projection, while the smaller FS body delivers a balanced tone with a responsive feel that brings out delicate, detailed arpeggios.
For back and sides, players can choose between solid Indian rosewood, which produces full lows and rich harmonics, and solid African mahogany, known for its warm midrange and rounded overtones.
