Showing only some typical signs of a well-loved vintage instrument, this 50-year-old bass is in very good overall condition.
The Les Paul Recording Bass was designed for studio use and features many different tone changing options and low-impedance circuitry. The 'tone selector' switch actually controls the amount of pickup windings connected to the output, so essentially you have full control over how hot your pickups are.
The pots and all wiring are completely original - dating 1969 - and other than a set of replacement strap pins, the bass is 100% genuine and authentic. The hardware is lightly tarnished and the nitro over the binding has yellowed with age as is normal.
The mahogany body has some minor dings and indents to the top and the back has slightly heavier play wear with some scrapes and scratches through the finish to the wood. The edges also present some scratches and small dings.
The neck and headstock are fairly clean, again with some minor aesthetic scratches and small chips around the edges. The frets are shallow, but showing no signs of pitting and have lots of life left in them.
Includes original Gibson hard case.
