Q. How does it all work?
A. First, choose whether you’d prefer to trade your old gear in against something else we have in stock, or to sell it to us outright.

Once you’ve decided, please fill in the Trade It. Sell It. enquiry form with as much detail as you can.

This information is sent directly to our friendly and experienced pre-owned experts who will get in touch with you with a valuation.

If you are happy to accept the offer then the next stage is to get your old equipment from you and your new gear or payment to you.

Q. What equipment can I trade in?

A. As the UK’s biggest and best guitar retailer, we are passionate about buying and selling quality pre-owned instruments.

Q. Is there anything you don't accept?
A. We don’t trade or buy in used headphones, microphones and in-ear monitors etc, for hygiene reasons.
Q. What happens if something goes wrong?

A. If an item arrives with us, either in store or having been collected from you and is found to differ from the description given when submitted through our online enquiry form, we may have to adjust our valuation accordingly.

We reserve the right to withdraw our offer and reject any item at this point.

If you request your equipment be returned to you, this carries a charge of £12.00. guitarguitar does not profit from this charge; it is used to cover the insured return courier carriage and any additional packaging used.

Q. How do I get my money?

A. Your agreed offer will be paid via secure bank transfer to a bank account of your choice within three working days.

Q. What photographs should I include?

A. A clear, well-lit series of photographs showing:

  • The front/ top of the instrument
  • The back of the instrument
  • The sides of the instrument
  • The instrument’s headstock, neck and fingerboard including any fretwear
  • The instrument’s serial number (where possible)
  • Any damage or significant wear and tear
