What is the best digital piano for beginners?

There are many different pianos we could recommend. However, we most often see new players leave our stores with the Yamaha P-45. It's an affordable piano that has been designed to suit professional players. By focussing on what players need and excluding some of the more advanced features, Yamaha have kept the price of this piano down. This makes it an ideal option for beginners as it's affordable but responds like an acoustic piano, so you won't need to upgrade as you improve.

How long do digital pianos last?

While it depends on how much it is played, your average electric piano will easily survive over 10 years of regular playing before encountering any changes to how the keys respond.

Which digital piano do the professionals use?

Nord keyboards have become the industry standard for professional musicians. It is common to see the Nord Piano used in studios and on stage.

What should I look for in a digital piano?

The keys on electric pianos differ between brands, with some feeling lighter to the touch than others. It's important to find a piano with keys that feel comfortable and if you're learning on an acoustic piano, keys which feel close to that piano so you don't need to compensate your technique as you transition.
