What we say:

At A Glance:

The Epiphone EB3 Bass simply oozes retro charm! Clearly based on the iconic SG shape, the EB3 is a stylish guitar for any player to pick up but is especially good for beginners thanks to its simple aesthetic. Jack Bruce from Cream, Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth, and Doug Yule from The Velvet Underground are all noted players of this shape, it has vintage appeal, but has never looked dated.

Features We Love:

Mahogany Tonewood

Mahogany is a popular hardwood that's loved for its weighty feel, rich low end and smooth high-end character that works especially well for bass guitar.

Scale Length

With its full-sized 34" the EB3 has a longer scale length than its little brother, the EB0, giving it better string tension and a rounder low end. This also makes the EB3 suitable for more styles, from jazz to metal, the EB3 has you covered.

Pickups

The EB3 features that signature EB low-end rumble from Sidewinder pickup in the neck position, but the addition of the Mini Humbucker in the bridge position adds some high-end clarity, tightening up the sound of the guitar. This makes the EB3 suitable for a wider range of styles and gives it more of a modern edge.

Highlights:

  • Vintage looks
  • Versatile range of tonest
  • Excellent for beginners

Great instrument for my daughter to learn on. Works well but needs a setup.

Chris E. - 30/10/2023

The bass has proved to be excellent in live performances and sounds fantastic through my Ampeg rig.
