Beautifully bound to set of the delicious Koa top, back and sides, this EF508KC is a marvellous example of Takamine's craft. This body size - a slightly shrunken jumbo - is a real trademark of Takamine and this example, made with solid Koa for the top, back and sides, is uniformly excellent.
Koa is found in only one place in the world: the Hawaiian Islands. Koa is similar in tone to Mahogany and figured examples like this make for stunning looking guitars! The binding of this EF508KC extends to the fretboard and headstock to give an upmarket and refined appearance.
Sonically, this guitar is a perfect match of shape, wood and bracing: there is plenty of size to move air and create some real volume and projection.
