What we say:
At A Glance
A guitar fit for the Star Child himself, Kiss’ Paul Stanley reunited with Ibanez to offer the PS120 model based on his classic Iceman guitars from Kiss’ heyday. Stanley has always been good with words so here is his take on the new model: "Renewing my collaboration with Ibanez feels like going home to where it all started. Since 1977 you've heard the guitar I created on countless platinum albums. You've seen it rattle coliseums from Texas to Tokyo. Now I'm making sure that my weapon of choice can also be yours...”. With his name on both the 21st fret inlay and truss rod cover, there is no mistaking the provenance of this PS120 guitar. Retaining the original body shape, this abalone-encrusted beauty is a winning mix of traditional guitar and extreme shape.
Features We Love:
The construction is straight out of the ‘tried and tested’ book. The mahogany body goes with the maple top and set mahogany neck. This thing is sustain city! Thick cream binding topped with abalone ups the visual ante significantly and makes the most of both the original shape and the Black finish.
Seymour Duncan Pickups
Two Seymour Duncan humbuckers bring some serious tone. There is a Custom 5 in the bridge and a ’59 in the neck; both are excellent choices for hotter-than-vintage rock sounds with sizzle and nuance. Star Child has some good taste!
Playability and Style
The neck has a unique 24.7” scale length and a wide, fairly thin neck with a comfortably rounded profile. The fingerboard is made from ebony and has beautiful Acrylic block inlays with abalone detailing.
