What we say:

At A Glance:

The Shure PGA27 is an affordable large-diaphragm condenser side-address microphone that's extremely versatile and suitable for studio and stage use. If you're looking for a go to mic for a range of uses without breaking the bank, the PGA27 is a great option to consider.

Features We Love:

Shure PGA27 in Action

The PGA27 is an extremely versatile microphone that's suitable for studio and stage use on vocals, acoustic string, brass and woodwind instruments and drum overheads. It's one of those microphones that's a good option for when you're unsure of which mic is best to use.

Pad and Filter

The microphone features a set of filter and attenuation controls that let you tailor the microphone for how you're using it. Rolling off the lower frequencies and engaging the -15db pad when using the microphone on drums will cut out rumbling captured through the stand and prevent any risk of distortion caused by peaks in sound. These controls can also be used for counteracting unwanted proximity effect and background noise.

Shockmount Included

The PGA27 can be mounted in the included shockmount, this prevents unwanted noise from entering the capsule via the casing and mic stand when recording vocals, drums and other instruments.

Who Is It For?

New producers, recording studios and music venues, looking for a quality mic at and affordable price.

Highlights:

  • Extremely versatile
  • Great for drum overheads
  • Shockmount and carry case included
