What we say:
At A Glance
The Joe Pass Emperor is one of Epiphone's longest running signature models. This instrument remains true to the golden age of jazz with its bound arched top body, retro trapeze tailpiece and classic Epiphone 'vine' headstock inlay. The design goes back to the glory days of Epiphone when they were a New York based company and the brand’s president Epi Stathopoulos would hang out with - and take notes from - the hottest musicians in the city. The original Emperor guitar was designed to be the largest and most impressive jazz guitar of its day. Joe Pass was undoubtedly one of the finest and most expressive jazz guitarists ever. His co-designing and championing of this model speaks volumes to the guitar’s quality.
Features We Love:
High Quality Construction
Select spruce is used for the top whilst the back and sides have gorgeous flamed maple laminates. Multi-ply binding, block inlays and that aforementioned Vine headstock inlay evoke the spirit of the Jazz age vividly.
These pickups are pretty special. The Epiphone ProBuckers were designed and created especially to achieve a truly accurate, boutique PAF tone in a stock pickup. They sound magnificent but there are also coil taps in there if you'd prefer a little more cut to your sound.
Often overlooked, the nut on a guitar plays a massive part in tuning stability as well as the overall feel when playing. The NuBone offers a secure housing for your strings but allows them to naturally move when they need to in order to provide a reliable and smooth playing experience.
- A must have for any Joe Pass fan
- Epiphone build quality
- Perfect for the performing jazz and blues guitarist
