Manufacturer's ID: JD-XA
What we say:
At A Glance:
Roland’s JD-XA is one of their most exciting modern synthesizers. It combines both analog and digital engines to give you a whole new wave of great sounds. The JD-XA also has some neat features like a 16-Track sequencer, a mic input for vocoding, and lots of high resolution controls. Not to mention it looks absolutely beautiful. And hey, if it’s good enough for masters like Nick Rhodes, it’s good enough for us!
Features We Love:
Analog and Digital Combined
The JD-XA is four parts analog and four parts digital. You can mix them together by, for example, routing the digital parts through the analog filter section. Or you can use them independently for two synths in one. Giving you that classic analog warmth and the flexibility of digital, the possibilities are endless!
Powerful Controls
On the JD-XA there are a ton of controls, and they’re backlit with that lovely red lighting. Roland have made it really intuitive to control both the analog and digital engines, and provide easy access to effects and mic controls.
16-Track Step Sequencer
The JD-XA also features a 16-Track (not steps!) sequencer. This allows you to sequence up to 8 tracks of internal parts and 8 tracks of external parts. This is fantastic for fleshing out your ideas and controlling your other synths via MIDI, CV or USB. With this in mind, the JD-XA can sit at the heart of your rig.
