What we say:
Slightly less breathlessly manic than his other signature acoustic but still with - let’s face it - winged skulls and gothic lettering all over it, this SYN GA SC acoustic from Schecter is another signature model for Synyster Gates.
We are sure that one day Synyster (real name: Brian) will calm down and be content to strum on a nice vintage Sunburst dreadnought but until that increasingly less likely day, our man is having a ball with his Gothic Horror-vibe guitar designs. This model has swapped the Pinstripe finish for a rather lovely translucent Black that shows off the Solid Spruce top. Multi ply binding is another tasteful addition and serves to give some extra context to the ornate nature of the fingerboard and rosette.
Pleasingly, a Fishman pickup system has been installed to ensure great live acoustic sounds. This is surely a guitar that wants to be seen on a stage?!
Syn Gates fans will love this and with good reason: it’s a great player with a good mature tone and a ton of madcap character.
