Hagstrom are a classic Swedish guitar brand dating back to the mid Twenties! Guitar makers since the late 1950s, Hagstrom have always offered their own stylish takes on classic solidbody and hollowbody guitar designs.

Hagstrom are popular with a diverse range of players: indie and punk guitarists love them as much as jazz players and metal guitar players. Their robust build quality, strong tones and left-of-centre good looks all play a lot in this!

Hagstrom guitars all feature a patented H-Expander truss rod for supreme stability. They also use patented ‘Resinator’ fingerboards which are made form a composite material that feels similar to Ebony. The necks are real selling points for Hagstrom: it is a supreme pleasure to play these! They feel slick, solid and comfortable, just as they should.

Nirvana and Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear has been a long-time Hagstrom user. This most influential and iconoclastic of players has chosen an instrument that is a blend of two classic Hagstrom models, the H-IIN and the Super Swede. It’s a beautiful looking instrument with a contoured top, cream binding, a great offset shape and some very cool top horns!

Pat’s guitar is made with a Mahogany body and Maple top, with a set Mahogany neck. An ultra flat 15” radius fingerboard is set off with large block fret markers and medium jumbo frets. This is a guitar with an elegant, easy feel indeed. It’s a very agreeable mix up between traditional specs and modern playability.

A pair of custom wound Hagstrom 58 Alnico pickups deliver a vintage-type sound that, as we all know, work well with high gain sounds as much as they do with valve overdrive. I wide selection of rich Rock timbres is available from this Hagstrom.
