What we say:

Fender bring a whole new design sensibility and cutting edge technology to their re-fresh of the Acoustasonic Telecaster. This new addition to the Fender catalogue is an exciting notion for gigging players of all descriptions.

So what is the Acoustasonic Telecaster? Well, it is a hybrid acoustic instrument, made in the USA, that aims to give players the flexibility and versatility of several acoustic guitar sounds along with quality electric guitar tones, all in an attractive and easy to play instrument.

Fender have taken the Telecaster’s timeless silhouette and made a sleek hollow acoustic guitar from it. THere’s a forearm contour for comfort and a surprising amount of acoustic projection.

The Acoustasonic Telecaster has a Mahogany body and neck with a top of Solid Sitka Spruce. The neck is bolted on and has a Telecaster headstock shape. The design is a bold one and we think Fender have got it just right.

So, it is a genuine acoustic guitar and can be played as such but the real magic happens when you plug it in. Fender have worked closely with Fishman to develop the Acoustic Engine, a new preamp that supplies 10 different acoustic body and tonewood sounds. This works along with the Fishman undersaddle piezo and a further Internal Body Sensor to give the player a range of highly realistic acoustic sounds.

Not only that, a noiseless Tele pickup is installed in the bridge position to bring some of that Telecaster twang to proceedings! Use it on its own or blend it in with your selected acoustic tone for some amazing results. The possibilities for the gigging player are tremendous.

In terms of playability, this new USA Acoustasonic is beautiful: a deep neck carve with a 12” radius Ebony fingerboard make for a superb playing surface: you can play however you feel, it’s a perfect middle ground for acoustic and electric techniques.

The Acoustasonic is the perfect companion for the gigging acoustic player or singer-songwriter. It’s also a host of fresh new sounds and textures to inspire you and add to your palette of tones.

The Fender USA Acoustasonic Telecaster is available in several new finishes, this one being Sunburst.

This guitar is definitely the best I?ve had yet. Great sound unlike no other especially when connected to an amp.

Leah B. - 24/4/2021

Guitar was delivered as promised. So far I am very pleased. The action could have been lower as I like it very low. I have got a nice acoustic sound for most of the music the band plays and with a flick of the switch I can play a fill or a riff in Telecaster mode. Great fun. May try electric strings as I struggle to bend the acoustic strings.
