A good inch of rigid, insulated foam ought to protect the instrument (in this case and electro-acoustic mandolin) from anything that wouldn't crush a rigid, plastic case anyway IMO. The shoulder straps are a nice touch and the outside pockets nicely held a spare set of strings, plectrums, capo etc. Perfect for the job.

Excellent bag way beyond my expectations.

Well padded and fits my Tanglewood mandolin with ease. Some bags are smaller and would not fit a Tanglewood mandolin as they have quite a large headstock
