Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (1 reviews)

I'm surprised how harmonically complex this guitar is, it's rich, loud and has the same volume when played anywhere on the neck. It sounds bright and present with good projection and rings well. It also sounds present when fingerpicked giving a good and clear volume. When playing, it inspires to create, the sound it projects is the best I've heard from an budget acoustic in 35 years. The saddle and action is a tad high, this is to be expected, it allows for lowering. A touch more bass and body wouldn't hurt, a Tusk saddle might achieve this or an heavier gauge of strings - It ships with .012/.016/.024/.032/.042/.053 (D'Addario EXP16) Now discontinued, the later models have different back/sides (laminate?) which might affect the tone. Material: 2018: Mahogany Material: 2019–2020: Okoume I'm quite happy the way it sounds, no boominess, which I've encountered on acoustics in this price range and below. I'd like to know how it sounds compared to a later model with different back and sides. No regrets. These guitars might have all been snapped up if it wasn't for Covid.
