What we say:
At A Glance:
The Tone King Imperial MKII 20 Watt Combo Valve Amp Brown/Beige is a classically styled American amp packed with features to create the best vintage inspired American amp around. At 20 watts you have plenty of power but if you find yourself in an environment where you need to be a little quieter you'll be happy to find the Tone King Ironman II attenuator integrated into this amp. Along with the vintage inspired spring reverb & tremolo you'll find that with the 2 classically voiced channels you have everything you need to capture that special all American tone.
Features We Love:
Classic American Tones
2 channels which very much encapsulate everything that can be described with Blackface and Tweed tones. The rhythm channel has plenty of headroom and sings with a sparkle on its clean tones reminiscent of 60's amplifiers. The lead channel oozes with a spongy mid-range and sustain that are indicative of 50's amplifiers. Together you have access to true classic American tones, coupled with simple controls to create inspiring tones.
Integrated Attenuation
Volume can always be a problem even with low wattage amps it might just not be the correct environment to let loose. But with the integrated Ironman II attenuator you can do just that! Tone King's Ironman II attenuator has received high praise for its natural sounding volume attenuation, using transformers instead of resistors it lets you cut your volume right down while still sounding natural. So feel free to crank that volume knob!
Custom Eminence Speaker
An amp like this needs special components. Tone King have worked closely with Eminence speakers to develop a custom speaker that meets all their needs. When you hit your first chord you'll be met with detailed overtones, warm lows, and vocal midrange frequencies all delivered in pristine detail.
On-board Spring Reverb & Tremolo
When you think of vintage American amps, you're often thinking of Spring Reverb and Tremolo as well. Tone King know this so to create the perfect amp to capture that magic they have gone into painstaking detail to recreate those tones. On the Imperial MKII you'll find the same thick, splashing, and pulsating tones you'll find on older vintage amplifiers.
