Jim James, the vocalist, producer, primary songwriter and guitarist for My Morning Jacket, has long impressed fans worldwide with his band and solo projects. He now has his very own Epiphone signature model. Based on one of his favourite guitars, the Epiphone Jim James ES-335 features a 70s Walnut-finished 5-Ply laminated maple body with a solid maple center block for increased sustain and a mahogany neck with a Jim James Custom SlimTaper C profile and an Indian laurel fingerboard with dot inlays. The Alnico Classic PRO pickups are paired with CTS pots and Orange Drop capacitors. Personal touches include vintage style Kluson Waffleback tuners with metal buttons, a circle/arrow emblem on the truss rod cover, and an owl decal on the back of the headstock. A hardshell case with the owl logo is also included.
Condition Report
It previously had cracks on the neck emanating from either side of the nut, but these have now been repaired. The finish is missing from sections of the neck, but it is smooth to the touch and structurally sound.
