Helix® Stadium Family amp and effects processors establish a new benchmark—just as the original Helix processor did. Leveraging powerful DSP and the entirely new Agoura™ modeling methodology, they deliver extraordinary sound and responsiveness to playing dynamics, a sophisticated yet intuitive user interface, and unparalleled control capabilities.

The flagship Helix Stadium XL Floor amp and effects processor may be thought of as a performance workstation, given its high-resolution 8" touch screen, 12 high-contrast OLED scribble strips, ability to morph between ultra-authentic and idealized amp sounds with a single control, 8-channel audio interface, versatile Matrix cue mixer, Proxy amp, cab, and effect cloning, and Showcase™ automation and playback engine. Showcase enables it to serve as the centerpiece of an entire stage setup—including automatically recalling presets and snapshots, controlling loopers and software, and using MIDI to control pedals, keyboards and synths, video, and even lighting. Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi control are also supported.

Helix Stadium XL Floor offers extensive connectivity, including various analog and digital audio inputs and outputs, MIDI (DIN and USB), multipurpose Control jacks, and a proprietary Nexus™ port for use with the optional Expand D10 unit and future peripherals. The Expand D10 provides Variax®, L6 LINK™, 8-channel optical, and other connectors. Multiple external footswitches and expression pedals, such as the optional EX2™, are also supported.

Agoura modeling establishes a new benchmark for authentic sound when modeling physical amplifiers—from tube and transformer behavior to dynamic interaction with speakers and cabs—while also greatly increasing the accuracy of how amps respond to your playing dynamics, so they feel as authentic as they sound. And should you prefer your amp tones to be more polished, the new Hype feature enables you to morph between ultra-authentic and idealized sounds using a single control. Plus! Proxy cloud-based processing enables you to capture the sound of your own amplifiers, cabinets, and effects.

INTERACTIVE INTERFACE

At the heart of the sophisticated yet intuitive user interface are a high-resolution 8" touch screen and 12 high-contrast 1.7" OLED scribble strips. These work in tandem with the 11 knobs, 13 buttons, and 12 footswitches to create the most ergonomic, intuitive, and inspiring user interface available. Its many features include Focus View with contextual parameter control, Preset Audition audio clips, and explanatory information text for most parameters. There’s also a fully integrated and assignable expression pedal with toe switch that enables highly precise control of nearly any parameter.

SHOWCASE

Showcase is a live automation engine that empowers Helix Stadium XL Floor to control a wide range of parameters and functions, whether you are jamming in your basement or automating every aspect of a sophisticated stage setup—from onboard preset and snapshot recall to MIDI remote control of external devices to playing up to eight internal stereo audio tracks to automating lighting and video rigs—all while tempo syncing everything. It’s like having a team of techs at your feet, helping you transform smaller venue gigs and livestreams into buzzworthy events.

EXTENSIVE CONNECTIVITY

Helix Stadium XL Floor provides an extensive array of analog and digital inputs and outputs, including two Instrument inputs and a microphone input, XLR and 1/4" analog outputs, a Phones output, four send/return jacks, two multipurpose dual Control jacks, and S/PDIF digital I/O. There are also DIN and USB MIDI connectors, a USB A port, and a proprietary Nexus port for use with the optional Expand D10 and future peripherals. Multiple external footswitches and expression pedals, such as the optional EX2, are supported.

OPTIONAL EXPANSION

The optional Expand D10 greatly increases the flexibility of Helix Stadium XL Floor. Connect Variax modeling guitars using VDI and Powercab® 112+/212+ active guitar speaker systems using L6 LINK. It also expands the ways in which Helix Stadium XL Floor may be used with audio interfaces, digital mixers, multi-connector breakout boxes, and other devices via 8-channel optical out. The optional EX2 expression pedal/toe switch perfectly complements Helix Stadium Floor both functionally and aesthetically.

FUTURE READY

Although Helix Family products have been continuously expanded, updated, and improved since they were introduced, Helix was not originally designed for that purpose. The architecture of Helix Stadium Family products, however, has been designed from the very beginning to provide a foundation for developing exciting new tools that help members of the Line 6 community realize their musical visions.

Helix Stadium 1.2 Firmware & Helix Stadium 1.2 Software

The free Helix® Stadium 1.2 firmware update for the Helix Stadium XL Floor amp and effects processor implements Phase 1 of the Showcase™ live automation engine, enabling Helix Stadium XL Floor to serve as the centerpiece of entire stage setups, in addition to introducing seven amplifier channels from three amps, and various other improvements and bug fixes.

PRIMARY SHOWCASE FEATURES

8-Track Song Player

Songs with up to eight stereo tracks can be imported into Helix Stadium XL Floor via Wi-Fi using the Helix Stadium application (v1.2 or future updates)—and three separate mixes of those tracks can be routed to the XLR, 1/4", and Phones outputs using the onboard Matrix Mixer. 

Event Sequencer

Events called “Flags” can be dragged and dropped onto a Song’s timeline, causing Helix Stadium XL Floor and/or external devices to accomplish any of a huge range of tasks. These include recalling presets and snapshots, engaging looper functions, controlling external effects and synths, switching channels on a physical amp, controlling software, and much more. Collectively, these Flags can be used to automate entire shows. 

Playlists

Much like with streaming media players, one or more Songs can be organized into Playlists, then recalled and navigated using the Transport footswitch mode, dedicated Transport buttons below the Volume knob, or the Transport panel on the Song screen.
