What we say:

At A Glance:

The Bourgeois Downeast Series Standard L-DBO is a smaller guitar which sits somewhere between 00 and 000/OM with a narrower upper bout, larger sound hole and narrow 1/4" bracing. What this means in practical terms is that this guitar delivers the surprising kind of power and presence you would expect from a larger guitar. Dana Bourgeois himself has even said that after a lifetime of Dreadnoughts the L-DBO has now become his go-to guitar! A striking Koa body and Ziricote fingerboard give the guitar an exotic aesthetic flourish and deliver a tone that is smooth, balanced and focused.

All Bourgeois Downeast series guitars are incredible-sounding instruments, thanks to the hand-voicing process. Dana Bourgeois and Master Luthier James Witkus have spent a great deal of time ensuring this skill is ingrained in the luthiers who work on these guitars. The result is that every Downeast instrument has the best tonal response it can, with exceptional balance and clarity. The first 125 were even voiced by Dana Bourgeois himself, setting an incredibly high standard.

Features We Love:

Hand-Voiced Top

Each Bourgeois Touchstone guitar goes through a painstaking process to bring out the natural frequencies of the soundboard. This attention to detail results in phenomenal tone.

All Koa Body

The Koa body is not just an aesthetic statement. While it looks stunning it also delivers a natural compression and smooth attack with balanced volume and incredibly focused, vibrant mids.

LDB Shape

Sitting somewhere between 00 and 000/OM, the LDB also features a narrower upper bout and a larger sound hole and narrow 1/4" bracing. The result is a surprising level of power and presence from a small guitar.
