Bourgeois Downeast Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought

What we say:

At A Glance:

The Bourgeois Downeast Series Slope Shoulder Dreadnought features an Aged Tone Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top paired with Walnut back and sides, for a look and tone that is both classic and evokes the tone of a vintage instrument. Dana Bourgeois has an exceptional half-century of experience of building dreadnought guitars, and all of that knowledge and experience is evident in this guitar.

All Bourgeois Downeast series guitars are incredible-sounding instruments, thanks to the hand-voicing process. Dana Bourgeois and Master Luthier James Witkus have spent a great deal of time ensuring this skill is ingrained in the luthiers who work on these guitars. The result is that every Downeast instrument has the best tonal response it can, with exceptional balance and clarity. The first 125 were even voiced by Dana Bourgeois himself, setting an incredibly high standard.

Features We Love:

Hand-Voiced Top

Each Bourgeois Touchstone guitar goes through a painstaking process to bring out the natural frequencies of the soundboard. This attention to detail results in phenomenal tone.

Aged Tone Torrefied Sitka Spruce

The Aged Tone Torrefied Sitka Spruce top has been treated to replicate the behaviour of the wood in a vintage instrument. The look is that of a darker, classic old guitar and the resulting tone is brighter, livelier, and more resonant.

Select Walnut Back and Sides

The carefully selected Walnut back and sides give the guitar a woody backbone and a midrange that blooms as you dig in. The tone is remarkably warm, clear and effortlessly musical.

Who Is It For?

This guitar is perfect for someone looking for a phenomenal-sounding premium acoustic guitar with vintage looks and tone.
