The Bourgeois Downeast Series Standard OM Cutaway features an Aged Tone Torrefied Sitka Spruce Top paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides, for a look and tone that is both classic and evokes the tone of a vintage instrument. The original Soloist design was crucial in reviving the long-forgotten OM body shape - a testament to how great this body shape is, and the addition of a soft cutaway allows for better fret access without negatively affecting the tone or look.

All Bourgeois Downeast series guitars are incredible-sounding instruments, thanks to the hand-voicing process. Dana Bourgeois and Master Luthier James Witkus have spent a great deal of time ensuring this skill is ingrained in the luthiers who work on these guitars. The result is that every Downeast instrument has the best tonal response it can, with exceptional balance and clarity. The first 125 were even voiced by Dana Bourgeois himself, setting an incredibly high standard.

The Aged Tone Torrefied Sitka Spruce top has been treated to replicate the behaviour of the wood in a vintage instrument. The look is that of a darker, classic old guitar and the resulting tone is brighter, livelier, and more resonant.

OM Body with Cutaway

The original Soloist helped re-launch the long-forgotten OM Body shape, which is now one of the most popular shapes! The soft cutaway shape offers better access to higher frets without drastically altering the look or tone.
