About Fender Player Stratocaster

The Fender Player Stratocaster is a fantastic guitar. It replaces the Standard Stratocaster in Fender's Mexican range. It is actually available in a few guises. This includes models with one and two humbuckers in addition to the customary three single coil pickup model. 'Plus' models with a Flame Maple veneer top are available too, as is a model with a locking Floyd Rose tremolo.

The Fender Player Stratocaster is available in a wide range of finishes including old favourites and fresh new colours. Depending on the finish, certain models have maple fingerboards and others have Pau Ferro. These finishes include Buttercream, Tidepool and Sage Green Metallic.

Frequently Asked Questions about Fender Player Stratocaster

There are 6 different right-handed models in the Player Stratocaster range and one left-handed model. They are are follows: the regular Player Stratocaster with three single coil pickups (SSS), an HSS model with a bridge humbucker, an HSH model with two humbuckers and one single coil, an HSS model with a Floyd Rose tremolo and two 'Plus' models (a regular SSS and an HSS) with a Flame Maple veneer on the guitar's top. The left handed model is the regular SSS model.
The differences, apart from the finishes, are hardware and pickup related. Aside from the normal three single coil pickup Stratocaster, there is also an HSS model (which means it has a bridge position humbucker and two single coils), an HSS model with a locking Floyd Rose tremolo instead of the usual vintage-style trem and finally an HSH model which has one single coil pickup in the middle position, flanked by a pair of humbuckers. Each of these varieties have their own range of finishes. The different configurations all change the sound and application of the guitar. We recommend playing a few of the ones that interest you in order to find which models work best for you.
Yes, the Player Series Stratocaster has its own newly designed set of single coil pickups. These blend plenty of the classic Strat tone with a little bit more output to drive the amp a little harder. This is a slightly more modern take on Strat pickups and they sound wonderful.
