About Fishman Pickups
Fishman pickups was founded in 1981 after Larry Fishman crafted his first prototype acoustic pickup in 1980. Fishman quickly found customers in Guild and Martin acoustic guitars and this allowed the company to develop more pickups for different types of acoustic instruments. Since 1981 Fishman have been producing very high quality guitar amplification products which includes both pickups and amplifiers.
In 2012 Fishman began developing a new electric guitar pickup that would revolutionise how guitar pickups were thought of. Working on the same core principle as most electric guitar pickups but using Printed Circuit Boards instead of copper wire to make windings, Fishman had huge control over the sound and consistency of their pickups. These were soon named Fishman Fluence pickups and released in 2014. Much like their acoustic pickups, known as Fishman Matrix, Fluence gained huge praise and were quickly adopted by many of the worlds biggest guitar brands and players.
Today Fishman continues to help musicians sound their best with their wide variety of quality pickup solutions that have been developed over the past 40 years.
