What we say:

BOSS's flagship range of multi-effects processors, the GT range, have long been the standard to beat when it comes to floor based processing. The current model in the range is the superbly powerful GT-100, now in it's version 2.0 firmware edition.

It should go without saying that the quality of effects available is industry standard quality: BOSS have set the bar so often with their versions of effects like Chorus and delay that you really know what to expect with this big box. It does not disappoint! The actual processing power is large so you can really go to town with your virtual effects chains. The COSM-modelled amps and effects provide a very realistic and three-dimensional platform for you to build up highly accurate and satisfying tones.

New additions include some further high gain amp models (you'll be able to discern form the not-so-mysterious titles of 'BGNR UB Metal' and 'ORNG Rock Reverb' which amps they've taken close inspiration from!), some new effects algorithms (Rotary 2 and Acoustic Guitar Simulator) as well as an enhanced USB/MIDI interface for flexible recording and a unique mono 1/4" jack to MIDI connection for using more synth-based sounds and devices.

There is loads going on under the hood of the GT-100 that allows you a more natural playing experience as well as a higher quality one. The A/B channel divided allows two sounds to be chained together and merged, even via picking strength! The creative guitarist will have a field day with this feature. The 'Accel' pedal gives you control over multiple different parameters at once. Relatively normal on synths but more or less unheard of with guitar technology.

These are just a few of the tricks under the sleeve of this sonic wizard. The most important things to remember though are that, regardless of the power and processing available, this unit SOUNDS really good and is very simple to operate. This alone is plenty to get most players interested!

D.G. - 27/7/2015

J.P. - 20/3/2015

L.M. - 3/12/2014

Got a Boss GT-100 ...Got to say at this bottom end price range, it's very good value.Would have liked an Axe FX-2, but hey ho, at over £2000 it takes some justification if your only a semi-pro. The Boss is reasonably easy to get on with, but had to go to You Tube for some tuition on programming user patches, otherwise, a cheap spare amp (that works great into the PA) in case my valves let go at a gig.

P.J. - 16/5/2014

The Gt-100 is very versatile and easy to use. The COSM amp sounds are good too. You have to read the manual to get the best from it though.

G.C. - 17/4/2014

Some great sounds out of the box, and very easy to mess with pre loaded sounds to create your own variations. Haven't tried making a sound from scratch yet.

N.M. - 10/7/2013

Great service and fast delivery.

C.J. - 9/4/2013
