What we say:

If it's good enough for acoustic maestro Tommy Emmanuel C.G.P., then it's most definitely going to be good enough for you and I!

Australian guitar maker Maton has been making quality instruments in Melbourne since just after World War II, using as many native tonewoods as possible to be eco-conscious and future-forward in regards to sustainability and their business practice. They caught our eye a few years ago and we're very pleased to be able to offer them to you.

This signature model is based on the smaller EBG808 body size designed by Maton back in 1978 to answer the need for a guitar with huge bass response and strong projection. Dynamics plays a big part in Tommy's playing style and he rightly feels that the EBG808 translates this terrifically well! Built with a Sitka Spruce soundboard and Queensland Maple for the back and sides, this signature model also has a 12th fret inlay displaying the legend C.G.P. (Certified Guitar Player, an epithet bestowed upon Emmanuel by Chet Atkins) as a subtle nod to the endorsee.

This is some player: it's full of drama and sparkle to complement that large and focussed low end. We can't say it'll leave you with any of Tommy's prodigious skills but we can guarantee you that this is exactly the same guitar that Tommy plays on stage every night.

Looked at this model online and saw they had it in-store. Played it first, then lots of other top-end acoustics for comparison but none of the came close in my opinion. Bought it there and then!
