What we say:

At A Glance:

The '57 Custom Champ by Fender resurrects one of the most popular amplifiers of all time! Taking a back to basics approach, the '57 features just a single volume control, yet it's renowned for its awesome tone! If you're after a no-nonsense valve amp that's portable and full of knockout tone, the '57 Custom Champ could be the amp for you!

Features We Love:

Who Is It For?

The '57 will suit experienced players for practice, studio work and gigs. Obviously being a late '50s design, the Champ works exceptionally well for blues, jazz and rockabilly tones, but it does also sound great when overdriven. So if you're after crisp cleans and hot and sweet dirty tones, you're going to love this amp!

True Valve Tone

The amp has that unmistakable valve tube tone, loved for decades for its sweet warm character that many believe is the authentic sound for the electric guitar.

Hand-wired

Just like the original, the '57 is hand-wired to the highest possible standard to give it its authentic signature tone.

Highlights:

  • That awesome vintage Fender tone!
  • Hand wired to Fender's incredible standard

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (9 reviews)

I've not had the Champ for long but I'm very pleased with it so far. For such a small and straightforward amp, it produces great blues tone through its excellent speaker and when used with a Strymon Flint sound quite like my Fender Princeton. The tweed covering with leather handle and metal name plate give the Champ a very vintage appearance as befits such an iconic amp.

Amazing amp, great sound for the size. Perfect for my needs.

This amp is expensive but the sound is on a different level from all many small amps I have tried.

Fantastic amp - the service from Guitar guitar made e buying process so easy and quick. The amp is a dream. Wish I had bought one years ago. Running my Les Paul and ES175 through it and the sound is golden loveliness

This is a fantastic little amp. It is physically small, but has quite a kick. Most importantly it has a wonderful tone. It has no reverb or overdrive switches, but if you crank up the volume it starts to break up very nicely, from the sweetest and creamiest clean sound at lower volumes. I rate its 'features' highly, not because it has lots of effects, but the sound can be quite flexible, depending on volume and guitar knob settings. For a bit of reverb or tremolo I use a Strymon Flint, and the combination is incredible.
