What we say:
Albert Lee’s distinctive Signature Music Man guitar makes its debut here as a cost-effective Sterling model. Now, more players than ever before will be able to have access to Albert’s guitar.
This Sterling AL40 guitar retains the unusual retro body shape and offset pickguard, making this very recognisable! The body is made from Mahogany and this example is finished in Daphne Blue.
The Maple neck uses the same 5 bolt join as USA-made Music Man guitars. The neck itself is very comfortable, using narrow fret wire and a 25.5” scale length to bring a vintage/modern feel that will work well with the lion’s share of players.
Two covered humbuckers adorn this guitar, with a 5 way selector to bring out a range of useful tones. There is an emphasis on lower gain, ‘vintage’ sounds, as you would expect, but the AL40 is no stranger to high octane riffing and soloing! A Music Man designed tremolo unit is there for all of your dips and wobbles, assisted by a headstock design that promotes straight string travel. This feature aids the tuning stability significantly.
Whether you are a fan of Lee’s masterful playing or not, you’ll find plenty to love with this charismatic and very capable guitar. Try it and surprise yourself!
