Laney Nathan East Digbeth Bass Pre-Amp

When it comes to bass there is no one more respected than Nathan East! 

We were excited to release out first NE signature product, the DE-EAST in 2025.
Nathan is a busy bass player – continuously in demand!  So, for Nathan to have a compact portable solution to get his ‘BIG RIG’ DB-EAST sound but in a small, portable package is amazing.

The DB-EAST-PRE is everything  you have come to expect from DIGBETH feature wise.  A switchable & blend-able FET and TUBE sound input stages. A tube channel that now has selectable gain characteristics along with a RANGE control for adjusting the level of low-end signal pre distortion letting you tighten up the distorted low end.  Along with a powerful 3 band EQ with selectable mid PRE-SHAPES and the mighty TILT function PLUS a new MASTER VOLUME. 

The DB-EAST-PRE features LA·IR equipped DI outs.  Each input is routed through the preamp to its own dedicated DI out which is configured in the LA·IR app – which comes pre-loaded with high quality IR’S of Nathans favourite DBV212 & DBV210 cabinets.   The IR from the DI out is switched automatically when you switch the DB-EAST-PRE’s input.  This gives you complete flexibility when it comes to using multiple basses.

Dual switchable inputs and dual LA·IR IRs from the DI out makes it possible to supply the FOH with a dedicated output for each instrument which can be EQ’d independently at the desk.  Rather than having to share a channel and compromise between one bass and then the other, which is the case in lesser bass amps.
The inclusion of LA·IR technology on the DI outs means you can add exactly the right cabinet IR and EQ exactly as you want to get the perfect bass sound every time via the free LA·IR APP. 

The TUBE channel has been given a few EQ tweak options for players who want to shape the drive characteristics of their tone you have the option of choosing 3 different 

The DB-EAST-PRE is everything  you have come to expect from DIGBETH feature wise.  A switchable & blend-able FET and TUBE sound input stages, powerful 3 band EQ with a parametric mid-section and the mighty TILT function PLUS a new MASTER VOLUME. 

The inclusion of a master volume allows for total control over the preamp characteristics whilst still maintaining precise control over the overall volume.  The DB-EAST-PRE panel also feature new low reflectivity knobs which make the unit easy to read under stage lights and give it a very seductive look.

The DB-EAST-PRE features a USB-C socket for connecting to the LA·IR APP, but it also supports audio in/out POST IR, so you can use it directly into your favourite DAW, making it super convenient for recording silently.

The DB-EAST-PRE has become Nathans go to studio tool.  It’s got all the tone and versatility of his signature head but in a compact, portable form factor.
