MESA/Boogie are BACK! The much beloved Californian amplifier brand have recently relaunched after a hiatus, and we are so excited about it!
In fact, we just had to know more about Mesa and what’s been happening these last few years, so we reached out to them for a chat. Happily, none other than Doug West - head of R&D at Mesa and Randall Smith’s right-hand man - was happy to sit down for a Zoom call with us, accompanied by lead engineer Tommy Waugh!
Doug was an exceptionally nice guy to talk to, and embodied the brand’s ethos of humbleness and passion. We covered a lot of ground in this near hour-long conversation, including the new amp models, the changing amp landscape for guitarists, the Gibson involvement, and even a never-before-seen look at the one and only Mark VI amplifier!
