This Yamaha BBNE-II Nathan East in Black represents the calibre of instrument required by one of the worlds most in-demand musicians. Nathan East has backed up the best, including Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Peter Gabriel, Joe Satriani, Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder to name but a few. To handle the wide range of sounds and styles that Nathan plays, he developed this world-class bass with Yamaha.
This Japanese made bass features Alnico V hum-cancelling pickups, a custom 3-band active EQ, custom bridge and a contoured body to create a tastefully executed guitar that looks great, plays amazing and sounds even better!
Body
The maple and alder body has been contoured to provide comfort and to fit the player, the lower horn has also been cutaway to provide easy access to the highest frets.
Pickups and Electronics
Nathan also worked with Yamaha to develop the stack Alnico V pickups. The pickups include hum-cancelling coils and have been designed with precision in mind. The pickups feed into an active circuit which features a 3 band EQ with a Mid-Cut switch for instantly cutting out a selected mid-range frequency.
Bridge
The custom bridge essentially comprises of a separate bridge piece and saddle for each string. This reduces negative vibrations from neighbouring strings, promoting the clean and precise tone Nathan is known for.
