About Yamaha 5 String Bass Guitars
Yamaha 5 string bass guitars are a stellar choice for beginners, intermediate players and pros alike. For many decades, Yamaha 5 string basses have been on the cutting edge of modern bass design and have been endlessly reliable.
The TRBX Series 5 string basses are ideal for beginners. Their humbucking pickups and active preamp ensure that they are versatile, capable of handling any genre from metal to funk to pop. A rock-solid laminated neck guarantees a comfortable playing experience and means that the TRBX doesn’t need to be set up often.
The BB Series is also available in 5 string. This famous bass was introduced in the late 70s. It was played by a huge number of bassists throughout the 80s including Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and session legend Pino Palladino. It features a bolt-on neck construction and split-coil pickup which gives it a distinctive rumble.
There are a few high-end BB signature models that are made in Japan and are ideal for the seasoned touring pro. These have been designed with Billy Sheehan (Steve Vai and The Winery Dogs) and Nathan East (Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder). This means that Yamaha 5 string basses are being played on the biggest stages in the world.
